Joining the Orchestra

If you are aged 16 and over and have an interest in joining the Orchestra head to our contact page and send us a message. Or if would like to make a personal visit first to hear what we do and how we do it then do feel free to visit us at a rehearsal (or concert) and make yourself known. There is ample parking provision – just ask for details.

Current Vacancies:

Violin & Violas: If you play to a high orchestral standard, get in touch.

Trumpet: If you play to a high orchestral standard, we’d love to hear from you.

At present we have limited vacancies. If you are interested in joining us or in deputising, please contact us.

Guest Players:

Other players may be invited to rehearse with us for larger works, or to fill temporary vacancies.

FAQ’S

How many Concerts do you perform a year?

We aim to stage three concerts per year in the spring, summer and autumn terms.

How many rehearsals do you have?

We rehearse every Monday evening during term time.

Where are rehearsals held?

Rehearsals are held at St. Aldhelm’s Church, in Branksome, Poole, Dorset.

Where do you perfom?

Concerts are mainly performed at St. Aldhelm’s Church. But on occasion performances can be repeated on request at other venues in Dorset and Hampshire.

How is the Orchestra funded?

The orchestra is self-financing, the main income being from member subscriptions, currently £35 per term (3 times a year).

How much are concert tickets?

We do not charge for entry to concerts at St. Aldhelm’s Church, but there is a retiring collection.
